So there have been proposals like that, and companies are discussing them now."

China has offered Gazprom the opportunity to invest in construction of its gas transport infrastructure, Deputy Russian Energy Minister Anatoly Yanovsky said in Moscow on Monday.

Speaking at the first Russian-Chinese energy sector investment forum, Yanovsky pointed out that Gazprom had previously offered its construction services which Gazprom and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) are currently "discussing."

Earlier on Monday, Russia and China signed a cooperation agreement on Russian natural gas supplies via the 'Power of Siberia' gas pipeline. Under the $400 billion (€316 billion) deal, Gazprom will deliver 38 billion cubic metres (125 billion cubic feet) of Russian gas to China via the 'Power of Siberia' gas pipeline over 30 years.
