For accommodation, I would recommend renting an airbnb in Brooklyn or Queens area rather than booking hotels. Based on our experience, in NYC, Airbnb is way cheaper than hotels

We stayed in a lovely Airbnb room in Queens which is located 30 minutes from LGA via uber or taxi and 25 minutes from Lower Manhattan via subway.

This airbnb is highly recommended as the hosts Krista and Matthew are super accommodating and friendly. Also the house and room are well maintained and just 9 minutes walk from Fresh pond Station.

In Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island tour (via Statue City Cruises, the only authorized boat to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island), back and forth from Battery park would take up to 4 hrs. Especially if you are planning to visit the pedestal. In our case, we just walk around the island and took tons of pictures. It took us 2 hours to get back to Battery Park. If you choose to take the staten ferry, it would take you approximately 1 hour.

Feel free to modify the itinerary above to the attraction of your choice. And if you have extra time you can add Charging ball and walk or bike in Brooklyn Bridge to your itinerary.

And lastly, we booked our flights to land in LGA as the airfare is cheaper than JFK
