Achill Island is 286km from Dublin towards west,it's population is around 2569,Area 36,572 acres,there are hotels B&B,one Super valu and a petrol station,Island is connected to main land with the bridge,where the bridge is there are few shops as well then there are few restaurants and Pubs in Keel close enough to the beautiful Keel beach which is famous for surfing,there is a camping site and a Golf course as well in Keels at the beach,after Keel on the same route the most beautiful beach in whole country is Keem Beach(Keem Bay),at Keem Beach you can get coffee or food from a mobile shop but only in Summer,after the Keem Beach if you like Hiking there is a very scenic hike towards the Croaghaun Mountain which has the highest Sea cliffs in whole Uk and Ireland and the 3rd highest in Europe,on a good day,views from the top are unreal, it's a very scenic Island overall,weather is very unpredictable so always make sure to have a raincoat,in winter wind is mostly extremely strong and raachillislane than summer.
