then probably there is something wrong with the proximity sensor. There are sensors at the top so which when covered makes the screen black when you are playing voice message. So the first thing that you have to do is if you are using a screen protector, remove the screen protector and check if this will fix the issue. Sometimes some screen protector might cause a problem with the proximity sensor. The second thing is if you are using a case for your phone, make sure that the case is not covering the proximity sensor. Also make sure that you have not covered the proximity sensor by mistake when you are playing the voice message. So these are the main important things that you have to check. After that what you can do is if you think this is a problem of WhatsApp application, go to settings. Go to Apps. Scroll down and look for Whatsapp application open WhatsApp application. Go to storage. Go to clear cache and remove all the cache files. Don't select clear data otherwise it will remove the data from the whatsapp application and after that the other thing that you can do is go to play store.

Search for whatsapp and if you see there is an update for whatsapp application then update it. Hopefully this should fix the issue.
