The 2188 was bored out to 56mm and replated. It has a 2100XP thin-ring piston. The carb on the 390 has been opened up 1mm. The 390 has a 3-port muffler and the 2188 a 2-port muffler. Both are ported and both have the timing advanced the same amount.
