1921年の皇太子裕仁親王の英国訪問の返礼として1922年に来日したイギリスのエドワード皇太子（後の国王エドワード8世）の日本到着を伝える。4月12日の英国皇太子一行の横浜港到着と日本側の歓迎の様子および東京駅から赤坂離宮（現在の迎賓館）に向かう馬車列を各所から捉えた前半と、同月15日に裕仁親王とともに臨んだ代々木練兵場での観兵式を記録した後半で構成されている。エドワード皇太子は5月9日に離日するまでに日本各地を訪れた。

「フィルムは記録する ―国立映画アーカイブ歴史映像ポータル―」では、1921年から1938年までの間に製作された作品を中心に43作品を新たに公開いたします。今回の公開では、社会的話題から市民生活までをテーマとした多様な作品に加え、重要文化財フィルム『史劇 楠公訣別』を公開しています。国立映画アーカイブでは、今後も随時公開作品を増やしていく予定です。ぜひサイトをお訪ねください。

The fourth edition of this site presents 43 additional titles covering mainly the years from 1921 to 1938. The selection includes a variety of works on topics ranging from social issues to everyday life, while the film designated as Important Cultural Property "Shigeki Nanko Ketsubetsu".
