Shanghai Auto Show 2023 Part 1

Join me as I visit the Shanghai AutoShow 2023 at the National Convention Center;

The National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) (NECC) is an exhibition and convention centre in Shanghai, China. The NECC is currently the largest exhibition complex, making it one of the landmark buildings in Shanghai. The building was co-built by Ministry of Commerce of China and Shanghai Municipal Government.

The center consists of four exhibition halls, the NECC Plaza, office buildings and a hotel. The façade of the NECC building draws inspiration from a "four-leaf clover" with the plaza as the core and the exhibition halls as its leaves.

Located in the Qingpu District in western Shanghai, the NECC enjoys multiple means of transportation provided by the Hongqiao transportation hub, including buses, metro, high-speed railway and airport. Metro Line 2's East Xujing station is the closest metro station to the center.

Auto Shanghai 2023 will be grandly held in April, Shanghai

The 20th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as “Auto Shanghai 2023”) will be held from April 18 to April 27 at National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). Auto Shanghai 2023, as a famous name card of Shanghai city, will once again serve as a grand industrial event for the car manufacturers around the world, boosting the confidence of auto market, increasing automobile consumption, invigorating the industry and forging cooperation for high-quality development.

Auto Shanghai 2023 is organized by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Shanghai Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and China Council for the Promotion of International trade, Automotive Sub-Council, co-organized by Shanghai International Exhibition (Group) Co., Ltd. and Messe München GmbH as the German Co-organizer. China Machinery Industry Federation is the special supporter of the exhibition while the Society of Automotive Engineers of China is the supporter.

According to the exhibition schedule, April 18 and April 19 are press days open only for media; April 20 to April 21 are trade days and April 22 to April 27 are public days.

Auto Shanghai 2023 has attracted the active participation of over 1,000 exhibitors. With an exhibition area of over 360,000sqm, Auto Shanghai will occupy 13 indoor halls of NECC (Shanghai). Among them, 9 halls are for passenger vehicles (3H, 4.1H, 5.1H, 6.1H, 6.2H, 7.1H, 7.2H, 8.1H, 8.2H); 3 halls are for auto tech and supply chain (1.2H, 2.1H, 2.2H); 1 hall is for media(5.2H). Except the above, the venue has the functional and service area such as catering area, rest area, first-aid stations etc.

Auto Shanghai 2023 will only offer E-tickets. Visitors are required to buy E-tickets in advance, apply for real name authentication, and scan valid personal ID for entry (for visitors from non-mainland China, a valid ID such as passport is required for entry), and strictly follow the visit date marked on the E-ticket.
