Vizara (South of Nkhata Bay Boma) is the only rubber plantation in sub-Saharan Africa: it was established by the Bros. Moir in the nineteenth century. We see, i) the construction of 'mipira ya mphira' (rubber balls) of the sort which are found for sale along the Chintheche road, and ii) the processing of natural rubber in the factory for export. The film was recorded in March 2022.
