Slow Stitching Stitch A Square | Fabric Squares & Focal Points | Best way how to stitch square 2022

Slow Stitching is a fun activity where artists sew unique designs and make each piece original. In today's video, I show my process for stitching a fabric block, using concentric squares. I alternate fabrics, between patterns and solids, to build up the pieces. Then, I add a focal point in the center of the smallest square.
I decided to turn this into a March 2022 Fabric Challenge and stitch a square each day of the month. I'll post my daily blocks on Instagramwww.instagram.com/danielamellenartist.

Square blocks can be any size. Mine are 3 3/4" square.
I use 3-4 squares for layers, and then have a focal point in the center.
The focal point can be a stitch, a piece of treasured fabric, a found object, beads, a button, or a charm.
