UNBOXING & PEN TESTING * B6 STALOGY AND ARCHER & OLIVE NOTEBOOKS FOR BULLET JOURNAL

Unboxing of a B6 Stalogy Notebook (Stalogy 365) purchased from amazon.com and 3 Archer & Olive notebooks purchased from archerandolive.com ~ an A5 Sketchbook and 2 B6 Dot Grid Notebooks. After the unboxing I ink tested both books with a wide variety of gel pens, fineliners, fountain pens, brush markers, and highlighter brush markers. I was trying to decide which notebook I will use for my upcoming bullet journal setup for my new bujo 2020.

I did not test any inks that were alcohol-based (such as Copics or traditional Sharpie markers), because that type of ink is known to always bleed through any paper not specially formulated to withstand alcohol ink. The Sharpie pens (not the ultra fine or fine tipped markers) and Sharpie Brush Pens are formulated with a different ink than their traditional marker counterparts, so they can be used on most forms of paper without bleed through.

In the end I decided to use one of the B6 Archer & Olive notebooks for my upcoming bullet journal because of the types of pens and media I plan to use for that project. In my opinion, the Archer & Olive notebook is better suited for gel pens, fineliners, and markers/highlighters, and the Stalogy notebook is better suited for fountain pens and porous-point fineliners.
