PokeMoshPit - Beginners Guide #4: Roles Within A Team

Описание к видео PokeMoshPit - Beginners Guide #4: Roles Within A Team

Before watching please note that this video is aimed at complete beginners in terms of competitive play, so please don't leaving comments saying "I know this already/ this is really n00by." The whole point of these videos is to teach the basics of online play to those who have literally no experience but have played Pokémon before and know the in-game well enough.

Hey guys welcome to the next episode of the Beginner's guide! We get a bit into the idea of team building here using concepts of roles within a team. Every Pokémon team will be built with Pokémon taking on specific roles (they are built to perform the job which they do best). This is where we break up the Offensive and Defensive Pokes into their various categories as well as the guys in-between.

The Main Roles in a Pokémon team are:
-Sweeper (can be Physical/Special/Mixed) -- An offensive Pokémon that deals out hard hits and is fast but has paper thin defenses
-Wall (can be Physical/Special/Mixed) -- A defensive Pokémon that has low speed and offenses, but excels in the department of Hp and Defenses.
-Tank (can be Physical/Special/Mixed) -- A Pokémon that does well on both the defensive and offensive sides, it may well also have decent Hp.
-Lead (can be Physical/Special/Mixed) -- The Pokémon which you send out first during battle. Common leads set up entry hazards (Stealth Rock/Spikes), but are not limited to this. A lead can be whatever the player wants it to be (could be used to set up sandstorm/rain in weather teams).
-Annoyer (can be Physical/Special/Mixed) -- A Pokémon that abuses status moves/set up moves. A good example is Lopunny.

If the stuff about Physical/Special moves makes no sense, see the video about the Physical Special Divide on the MoshPit Channel.
