DIY Sculpey Liquid Polymer Clay | Make Your Own Sculpey | How To Make Liquid Clay

I hope you’re as excited about this #DIY as I am!

I’ve been a little obsessed with #polymer #clay #crafts recently but only as an observer. I found it kind of tricky to understand the start-to-finish process based on the videos I was seeing so I put off trying it. Of course, I got over that and took the plunge.

I kept seeing artists pouring this liquid onto their little cut up clay chunks before squishing them back together. So I asked a few times what it was and someone finally told me: #Sculpey Liquid Clay. It’s basically used as a glue to stick pieces of clay back together.

It got me thinking, maybe this is a gimmicky product (no disrespect intended, it’s convenient after all) and one that’s easy enough to make yourself. Well, I couldn’t find ANY info on the internet about how to make your own. This both irritated me…..and excited me!

So, I first looked into what Sculpey #LiquidClay was actually made of and then tried to translate these ingredients into ordinary everyday products. Long story short, after a few experiments, I settled on the recipe I’ve shared with you today.

As you can see in the video, I did buy some Sculpey so that I could compare it against my formula in each bake, and, whoop whoop, it works EXACTLY the same! I’m not claiming that my recipe is literally the same, because it’s clearly a different product, but it does the exact same job. I genuinely won’t be using the Sculpey product that I bought again because I’m so proud of my own!
