Lake Chilika is a brackish water lagoon that extends through the districts of Puri, Khurda and Ganjam in the state of Odisha, on the east coast of India, at the mouth of the Daya River. It extends over more than 1,100 km. It is the largest coastal lagoon in India and the second largest lagoon in the world
Around 152 rare Irrawaddy dolphins have also been reported.
