Join me as I dive deeper into my passion for exploring the stunning alpine areas of Vancouver Island. Kings Peak, Vancouver Island's Magnificent Alpine. In this video, I’ll take you on a journey from a recent hike up 5040 Peak with my good friends Jon Grall and Brian Barnham to a new challenge—King’s Peak in Strathcona Provincial Park.

The hike up 5040 Peak was an unforgettable adventure, filled with breathtaking views and incredible photo opportunities. It was such a successful trip that it inspired me to take on an even bigger challenge: conquering King’s Peak. Strathcona Provincial Park, Vancouver Island's oldest provincial park, is a wild and rugged landscape, and King’s Peak didn’t disappoint. The steep trails and rocky terrain tested my limits, but the sense of accomplishment and the spectacular views from the summit made it all worthwhile.

I spent two nights camping just below the summit under a sky full of stars, capturing some amazing photos and videos along the way. For this trip, I packed light with my Fujifilm X-S20 camera, a 55-200mm lens, and a 16-80mm lens for flexibility. I also brought along two light tripods, my Osmo 3 for video work, and a small drone with one battery for some potentially stunning aerial footage. It was the perfect setup for this alpine adventure.
