We replaced the CV axle and CV axle seal on my 1995 Toyota Camry. It's always a good idea to replace the CV axle seal (output shaft seal) when you're replacing the CV axle so you don't have to remove the axle again just to replace the seal. Also, if you remove the strut, it makes replacing the CV axle and seal a lot easier.

We made a homemade CV axle puller to remove the axle because it was so far recessed into the differential/transmission housing that we couldn't get a tool behind the CV axle to pry it out.
