This program will focus on water-related issues. The panel will include two local Taosenos with many years of experience in water management and usages.

Peter Vigil is the District Manager of the Taos Soil and Water Conservation District since 1999. Peter is a 2014 recipient of the National Conservation Professional Award. He owns a 23-acre farm in Lower Ranchitos. Peter and his engineering staff have been instrumental in designing and building many acequia infrastructure upgrades in Taos County.

Robert “Andy” Martinez is a 6th generation native of the Taos Valley raising sheep and cattle, for over 200 years in the Ranchitos area. He and his family work a small cow-calf operation, grazing on the Carson National Forest in the summer, raising winter feed on irrigated land, and pasturing their cattle for the balance of the year in Ranchitos. Robert is an acequia Commissioner and Board member of the Taos Valley Acequia Association. He is incorporating regenerative practices into the family ranching operations and is active in the Rios del Norte Farm & Ranch Coop.
