Happiness in the Laines! Beautiful sounds from Man Like Malcolm busking with his guitar in Brighton!

Malcolm Lall was born in London on Christmas 1965. Having developed a severe stutter when he was just 8 years old he found solace in music and became obsessed with learning and writing songs as it was his only form of communication.
Over the years Malcolm learnt to play several instruments to a high standard and music remains his best friend and saviour. The dark times came in his late twenties when alcohol consumption spiralled out of control. “It very nearly killed all the beauty I had inside. It stripped me of my dignity and self-worth!”.
Things went from bad to worse for Malcolm and he became a frequent visitor to prison. Somehow he managed to keep his trusted guitar with him and Malcolms songwriting documents his journey with songs like “Doing Bird”, “You closed the door”, “You’re not alone” and “When the sun goes down”.
At the ripe old age of 52 Malcolm hit rock bottom and the gift of desperation hit him. “I just couldn’t live like this anymore!” says Malcolm “I went to rehab, found the 12 step program and the rest as they say is history”. Now more than 18 months clean and counting Malcolm is full of pride and self-worth again. He is always excited by the new day - “To be in my company is to be with someone who is full of gratitude and understanding”. (NotSaints)
