Описание к видео Benefit - Caribbean Holiday / Drunk & Disorderly

Benefit - 2 numbers from 1971 Caribbean Holiday / Drunk & Disorderly. Recorded in Melbourne Australia.
In 1969 a three piece group was formed consisting of Bill Tharle on base,
Rob (Bomba) Davie - lead guitar and George Vernon - drums.
Around 1970 Ian Fenney - keyboards, joined the band
followed by Graham Barker - vocals and then John Lee - percussion.
The band was initially called Bomba and the Jungle Boys but this was
soon changed to Benefit due to the band playing covers of Jethro Tull
songs from their album titled Benefit.
As a three piece band the gigs were private parties and small gigs.
As the band grew the gigs became bigger. Benefit had a regular spot
at the Prince Mark Hotel every Sunday night.
Also at Spangles at the Windsor Regis in Chapel Street every Friday night
after playing at 431 St Kilda Road. Benefit was the
support act for Billy Thorpe at the Moe Mechanics Institute dance
and at the Dandenong Town Hall. Benefit recorded a few original
songs at a recording studio in Illowa Street Malvern East. The band
grew with the addition of Pete Coloraffi - road manager and then
Dave Kipper - Manager. Benefit had a strong following and played
a few original songs as well as covers of a wide variety of artists.
Any money from gigs was used to purchase equipment such as
a P. A. system and a Transit van to transport the gear.
Rehearsals were held in a church hall as often as possible.
The following original songs were transfered from 1/4"
reel to reel tape that was at least 42 years old at the time.
The transfer was done without any restoration.
