Divisibility rules offer quick ways to check if a number is divisible by another: 2 ends in even, 3 sum of digits divisible by 3, 4 last two digits by 4 5 ends in 0 or 5 6 divisible by 2 & 3, 7 subtract twice the last digit from the rest 8 last three digits by 8 9 sum of digits by 9, 10 ends in 0 11 alternating sum of digits by 11, and 13 group in threes, alternate adding/subtracting, check result
Here are the rules from 2 to 13:
2: The number ends in an even digit 0, 2, 4, 6, 8.
3: The sum of its digits is divisible by 3 e.g., 123 -1+2+3=6, which is divisible by 3.
4: The number formed by the last two digits is divisible by 4 e.g., 116 16 is divisible by 4
5: The last digit is 0 or 5.
6: It must be divisible by both 2 and 3.
7: Subtract twice the last digit from the remaining digits. If the result is divisible by 7, the original number is e.g., 658 65 - 2*8 = 49, which is divisible by 7
8: The number formed by the last three digits is divisible by 8 e.g., 1288 -288 is divisible by 8
9: The sum of its digits is divisible by 9 e.g., 4+5+9=18
