South Korea continued to see a slump in exports in May, but consumer sentiment improved amid with slowing price hikes.
According to the latest economic trends report released by the Ministry of Economy and Finance on Friday, exports fell by over 15 percent on-year.
Outbound shipments of semiconductors fell by 36 percent on-year, with computers down nearly 60 percent.
Despite global economic uncertainties affecting exports, consumer and business sentiment improved price increases slowed.
Consumer prices saw a 3-point-3 percent rise on-year, but have been slowing for five consecutive months.
Job growth also continued, with some 351-thousand more people in employment in May compared to the same month last year.
