Modern farming follows intensive crop cultivation with high doses of fertilizer & pesticides. Soil did not get any rest to ameliorate itself, hence soil health is deteriorating day by day. Sometimes soil pH may acidic or basic and other major or micro nutrients become very low or higher than actual requirements. Hence, soil testing is an important job to farmers for right application of fertilisers & other ameliorates in soil to correct soil health & minimise crop production cost for higher income generation. Without soil testing it is very difficult to ensure the.
There are some benefits of Soil Testing i.e.
1) Soil testing determines level of nutrients in the soil.
2) It helps in selecting the right fertilizer and its quantity for a specific crop.
3) It helps in getting higher yield of crops.
4) It helps to improves soil health due to optimum fertilization in soil.
5) Ultimately it increases profit and decreases input cost of farmers.
