Tobey Maguire - The Great Gatsby Interview HD

Tobey Maguire, The Great Gatsby - Tobey Maguire might be more used to playing a certain web-slinging superhero, but when offered the chance to star in The Great Gatsby, he just couldn't refuse. Maguire plays narrator/writer Nick Carraway in Baz Luhrmann's $120 million 3D screen adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald classic novel. The film also stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby, the mysterious self-made millionaire carrying on a doomed romance with Daisy Buchanan (Carey Mulligan).

Tribute.ca spoke with Tobey in New York about taking on such an iconic role, working with his extraordinary co-stars and helping to bring director Baz Luhrmann's vision to the big screen.

The Great Gatsby movie synopsis:

Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire), a young man from Minnesota, moves to New York to learn about the bond business. He rents a house in the swanky West Egg district of Long Island. He eventually meets his neighbor Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio) and gets caught up in his world of extravagant parties and people.

Based on the novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald, this story deals with the allure of fame and fortune, as well as the unbreakable bond of first love.
