Today’s video is all about the last month of struggle with the 300zx. After resealing the engine and refreshing the chassis the hoopty Z was working better than ever. We made a short video to celebrate the end of “the build” for now. Unfortunately while filming a few skid clips my power steering failed. I didn’t have the funds to go buy a power steering rack, so I did everything I could to make sure, if I spent that money in the future, it wouldn’t be in vein. After messing with the car for a while I confirmed my suspicions and parked the car until the day before Dallesport. Something came over me the day before our event and I decided to take my car out even though the rack was on its way out. I wanted to do a bolt check before hand so I drove to the shop and did just that. Unfortunately I forgot to torque the lugs before I left and everyone’s worst nightmare happened on the way home. My wheel fell off going 50 down the road and I slid the car about 100 yards until I could veer safely off the road… A horrible mistake. I was just as wreaked as the car. It’s still embarrassing that it happened. Luckily for me I’ve got a solid group of homies to help when I suck. Samsquanch came to the rescue with the Tundra and trailer, and along with the help of my other friends, pushed me to try to fix it before the drift day in the morning. Jed filled the damage on the back of my faces with the TIG while Samsquanch straightened my fender as best he could, and I checked out the suspension and filed the wheels once they were filled. Although I’m not proud of my mistake, everyone makes them, and I’m just happy everyone is safe. I’ve learned my lesson and I hope you picked something up from this video too. Even if it was just a giggle at my dumbassery.. Keep good company and learn from the mistakes you make ❤️ Thanks for watching
