The first arrest under Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Ordinance 2020 was made in Bareilly. The new law has created much curiosity and interest in the UP city as police say people have been approaching them with old cases, seeking action under the law, while religious leaders from both communities say it is a step in the right direction.
