"We have to fully isolate Russia from cultural, political, economic organisations. We have to be more decisive excluding Russia from SWIFT (financial messaging system). Yes, we did some partial steps, but this is not sufficient enough and we have to exclude or de-SWIFT more Russian banks then probably we could expect that Russian society will start to feel the pain."

STORYLINE:
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda called on Tuesday for further sanctions against Russia as its invasion of Ukraine continued.
Speaking on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Nausėda said he wanted Russia to be fully isolated from cultural, political and economic organisations.
He said that financial penalties, such as excluding key Russian banks out of the SWIFT financial messaging system, should go further.
