Designing Online Learning Environments Session One: Online Learning and Space

In designing physical learning spaces such as schools, architects and education specialists are able to reflect on the role space plays in the process of learning and to consider how the multitude of functions of a school can best be accomplished under one roof. Online learning has taken the medium into a virtual environment, but this does not mean considerations of space should not play a vital role in designing learning environments. In the first event of our series Designing Online Learning Environments we would like to start a conversation about the use of virtual space and education where we bring together experts in the architecture, education and web design fields. We will tackle questions such as: what are important considerations about physical space in education and how does physical space extend to the online space?
