Описание к видео Regime Change and the Minority Crisis in Bangladesh | Dr Sanchita Bhattacharya | Debasis Sarkar

Bangladesh’s current unrest can be traced to deep historical tensions, but the immediate spark came with the reinstatement of the Mukti Joddha quota system. What began as a protest quickly turned violent, driven by hidden agendas—chief among them, anti-Hindu sentiment and long-standing resentment. Terms like "Razakar" were misused, weaponizing history and erasing its moral weight.
An ideological shift—from Bengali secularism to Bangladeshi exclusivism—has been fostered by groups like BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami, the latter now dangerously repositioned as mainstream. Hasina’s firm stance was twisted, the sacrifices of the Mukti Joddhas ignored, and the horrors of 1971 buried under sectarian rhetoric.
Now, under the Yunus regime, mob violence and Islamist assertiveness are surging. Minorities live in fear, intellectuals are silenced, and Bangladesh risks sliding into a Pakistani-Afghan model of religious authoritarianism, threatening its secular legacy and regional stability.
India, as a close neighbor with shared history and strategic interests, cannot afford to look away.
