As a part of Enshrinement 2012, The Basketball Hall of Fame announced that Center Court, located inside of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, will be re-named the "Jerry Colangelo Court of Dreams" in honor of one of the most innovative and influential owners in NBA History as well as one of the Hall's greatest supporters. The official court dedication will took place during a private ceremony on Friday, September 7th prior to the 2012 Enshrinement Ceremony.

Colangelo is currently the Chairman of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Board, as well as the Chairman of USA Basketball's Board of Directors and architect of the 2008 and 2012 US Olympic Gold Medal winning teams. He has spent most of his life involved with the game of basketball. A graduate of the University of Illinois, where he earned All-Conference honors as a player, Colangelo began his NBA career in 1966 with the Chicago Bulls' front office.
