Music Mouse was written by Laurie Spiegel in 1985.

When playing this instrument, you simply move the mouse and the software does all the calculations needed to keep the music harmonious.

It can be described as a musical "expert system" or "intelligent instrument".

Because it is a generic MIDI controller, it can be plugged into any synthesizer.
