Canna bulbs are easy to dig and store. In Maryland’s zone 7 climate they will sometimes overwinter in the ground. Since I treasure this scarlet red cultivar, I am digging them for insurance. Canna roots are really modified stems. Notice they have buds! That tells you that this bulb form is really a modified stem. Check it out!
