Enjoy this pure and comforting Ghee Rice made with Sona Masoori rice and flavored gently with jeera (cumin seeds)— perfect for those who prefer no onion, no garlic dishes.
This light, aromatic rice cooked in pure ghee with roasted cashews and raisins makes a wonderful side for dals, curries, or just a simple wholesome meal.

Making coconut mixture:
Grated coconut - ½ cup
Water - very little

Method:
1. Blend smooth grated coconut with very little water.
2. Transfer to a bowl and keep this aside.

Making ghee rice:
Clarified butter / Ghee - 2 tbsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
Bay leaf - 2
Cinnamon - small stick
Cardamom - 2
Cloves - 2
Cashews - 7 to 8
Green chilli (slit) - 1
Ginger (grated) - 1 tbsp
Kasuri Methi / Dry fenugreek powder - 1 tsp
Blended coconut mixture
Fresh green peas - ½ cup
Water - 2 cups
Sugar - 1 tsp
Salt - to taste
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Milk - ½ cup
Jeera rice - ½ cup
Sona masoori rice - ½ cup

Method:
1. Heat 2 tbsp of clarified butter / ghee and 1 tbsp of oil and add the above one by one.
2. Bring this to boil.
3. Give this a good stir.
4. Secure the lid and allow 2 whistles before turning off the heat.
5. Turn off the heat after 2 whistles.
6. Allow the pressure to release naturally, then open the lid.
7. Gently mix the rice, taking care not to break the grains.

Topping:
Clarified butter / Ghee - 1 tbsp
Raisins - 2 tbsp

1. Once the raisins puff up, turn off the flame.
2. Add the raisins to the ghee rice and mix.
3. Ghee rice is ready 🤤😋👌👌.
