Part 1 of looking into a few ways we can light a small space on a budget. I'm hoping this little series will help people to think about the ways in which this can be achieved and be able to build on these ideas.

Mirrors and mirror board are great tools for bouncing hard light where you can't fit a whole lighting unit - there's a variety of applications for using mirrors in your lighting and in this video we can see how it helps to add a light "shooting through" the window, where we would otherwise have no tools to put a light outside of it. Now as with anything, this isn't perfect - depending on the size of the mirror, distance of light from that mirror and distance of mirror from blinds - it's tricky to light up a bigger area. But for close ups and detailed shots as shown in the video, this sort of thing can save you in a pinch if you have absolutely no way to put a light out of that window!
