La Carlota is one of the component cities of the province of Negros Occidental, Philippines and it is 43 kilometres (27 mi) from Bacolod.
La Carlota City has a rich cultural heritage established by one of the oldest and most prominent sugar mills in the province and shown in their celebration of the Pasalamat Festival, which falls every last week of April nearest to Labor Day.
Pasalamat Festival is not just based on the tradition of thanksgiving but on upholding the community’s love for arts and preservation of culture.
