On Wednesday the 19th of March the municipal elections will be held in The Netherlands. Citizens of The Netherlands can this time also bring out their vote in a great number of NS trainstations. There are 44 locations in and the around the stations that will be put up to give people the opportunity to vote. In this way, commuters can easily vote before or after their traintrip!

NS attaches great value to democracy. For that reason it is perceived of major importance to encourage people to bring out their vote during the municipal elections. With a voting pass and valid passport or ID, citizens can vote at the trainstations of their place of residence. Most voting halls will be open from o7.30 until 21.oo. More details about the locations and times can be found on the NS website.

Since 2006, the possibility to vote at NS stations was introduced. Four years later already more than 50.000 people had voted at NS voting halls. The trainstations of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Leiden, Nijmegen and Den Bosch are the best visited locations.
