In the latest development, the Former working president of Gujarat Congress and Patidar leader Hardik Patel made his decision official by announcing that he will be joining BJP. Close sources in the BJP confirmed to India Today that Hardik Patel is very likely to join the BJP in the presence of Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, BJP state president CR Patil and other ministers and top leaders.

Hardik Patel wanted some top central leaders to be present when he joins joined BJP. However, it is still not finalised. Sources in BJP said that it will be a mega event at the Gujarat BJP head office in Gandhinagar, Kamalam.

It will be important to see what position the BJP gives to Hardik Patel after he joins the party. Sources from BJP also said that post his joining, Hardik Patel may contest the election for the upcoming Gujarat Assembly polls.
