Onewheel Battery Replacement

In this video, I replace the batteries in my little brother's Onewheel Original. The battery life had degraded severely in the four years since my brother got it. After replacing the batteries, the Onewheel behaved like it was brand new and regained its full range.

This project consisted of disassembling the Onewheel, assembling a replacement battery pack, soldering the charge control and power wires from the old battery pack onto the new one, and sealing up the battery and putting the Onewheel back together. I used a Sunkko 709A spot welder and 0.2mm thick, 8mm wide nickel strips (both bought on Amazon) to assemble the battery pack, and a lot of Kapton and electrical tape to seal it up.

Working with lithium-ion batteries can be dangerous. You probably shouldn't try this at home if you don't know what you are doing... kinda like me since this was my first time assembling a battery pack :)
