The video shows the first automatic safety rule checker for Building Information Models (BIM). The clip demonstrates the tool that automatically detects fall related hazards based on pre-defined rules, designs and visualizes fall protection equipment (e.g., guardrails, covers), calculates the accurate bill of quantities of the required safety protection equipment, and simulates the mobilization and de-installation sequence according to an a-priori known construction schedule (4D). This work has received two major awards in 2012 by the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building (CIB) and in 2015 by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy.
