The High Court in Pretoria has granted the organisation Mining Affected Communities United in Action an application for an urgent interdict to give emergency aid to the unknown number of illegal miners.

The humanitarian aid includes water and food. The organisation believes that the illegal miners are being subjected to life-threatening conditions underground.
