GuardSmart Quick Tips Hiden Dangers of Tail Pulleys

Описание к видео GuardSmart Quick Tips Hiden Dangers of Tail Pulleys

One of the main danger areas is the pinch point where the belt makes contact with the pulley. This is a hazard because you can be pulled into the pulley. Other hazard areas that should be looked at include the entire rotating surface of the pulley. This area becomes worn over time, could have material build up or even holes in the surface that can catch loose clothing and draw you in. The face of the pulley is also a hazard as it too can wear over time. Material build up and/or burrs on the surface can catch loose clothing. Exposed keyways, irregular burrs or notches on exposed shafts are equally hazardous and should be guarded to prevent contact. Everything that rotates can be a hazard. When evaluating a tail pulley take into consideration all the hazards. When guarding tail pulleys make sure your guard is designed so you cannot reach over, under, around or through to contact the hazard.
