藏鏡人的身世The Story of Mirror Man's Past (Eng Sub)

Here is the first half of the story which Mirror Man told Su Yan-Wen: Long time ago, Jiaozhi (交趾, pronounced as Kautsi in Taiwanese) was warring with the Ming Dynasty. Although they were enemies, the Jiaozhi army and the Ming army had an unsaid agreement that they wouldn't kill or harm each other's families. But one time, the vanguard of the Ming army mistook where the Jiaozhi army's families lived for the army camp and attacked there. Lots people of the Jiaozhi army lost their families, include the chief commander, Lor Tian-Ziong. Being angry and seeking for revenge, Lo Tian-Ziong ordered his solders to attack the Ming army's families. In the chaos of battle, the wife of Gernal Su Phong-Tsiu (the chief commander of the Ming army) gave birth to twin sons. She only had enough time to take one of the twins away. The other one fell into Lor Tian-Ziong's hands. When Lor Tian-Ziong found out the child is Su Phong-Tsiu's son, he wanted to kill him at first. But Lor Tian-Ziong thought up a meaner scheme later. He planed to raise the child up, educate him to become a general of Jiaozhi, and then have the child to kill his own father. However, when Lo Tian-Ziong brought the child back to Jiaozhi, he met Su Phong-Tsiu on the half-way, and got decapitated by Su. Unbelievably, even without the head, the body of Lor Tian-Ziong still ran hundreds miles away with the child in its arms and arrived Jiaozhi. (It's supernatural, I know. But this series is never a realistic story. )The people in Jiaozhi thought the child must be the son of Lor Tian-Ziong, their god of war. Therefore, they took care of him, and raised him up.

The last half is in this clip. And the whole story of Mirror Man's past is really sad and sympathetic.
He found out every thing he once believed was just a lie, but still had to live in it. The people in Jiaozhi who raised him up had great expectations to him. He couldn't walk away like he has nothing to do with them. Therefore, he had to be enemy with the Midland where he really came from. He had to keep trying to kill his own brother, although in the deep of his heart, he didn't want to (even he hated Su Yan-Wen). And he couldn't show his face because the people in his county saw Su Yan-Wen as their arch enemy. What a heavy life.
The playwrights of Gim Gong Potehi(金光布袋戲) transformed Mirror Man from a villain into an antihero very successfully. It's kinda pity that there are some flaws in the script. For example, Jiaozhi was never mentioned in the previous episodes, and Mirror Man and his "father" seemed to be generals of the Miao's Land. But the toponym "Jiaozhi" just showed up here out of blue. Of course Jiaozhi and the Miao's Land can refer to the same area in this series. But I don't think it's good idea since that Jiaozhi is the ancient name of Vietnam. Besides, Mirror Man said he "no longer used the name Lor Bik" is sort of strange, because almost everyone from the Miao's Land still called him "Lor Bik"(although people from other places called him Mirror Man). I suspect that the crew used the script of theatre version directly in this scene. Hopefully all of these will get explained in the up-coming episodes.
Anyway, this scene is still great. And what happened next made me cry. I'm really looking forward to next 2 episodes.

P.S. Although I translated it as "Mirror Man" for convenience, Lor Bik's nickname, Tsong Kiap Jin (藏鏡人) actually means "the man who hides in the mirror." Because the image of his "protection light"(護體金光, Hoo The Gim Gong. It's kidda like an energy shell or something which made of magic or Qi) is a mirror.
Even if it's not why he got his nickname, the nickname藏鏡人could be seen as a metaphor of who he is.
藏 means "hide", which refers to that he has always hidden his face and his true identity.
鏡 means "mirror", which implies he has the same face as Su Yan-Men, just like a reflection in the mirror.
