Blues (in all of its definitions) is a central ingredient to what we now consider Jazz. It is America's greatest export. In fact, the pieces could only have come together in a Jim Crow America. Blues within Jazz have been there since Buddy Bolden first blew his horn on the streets of New Orleans. He was the founding father of a sound and approach as it was coming into focus. This would later be known as Jazz.

I'm privileged to dive into this discussion with none other than Dave Rubin. Dave has been an author for the Hal Leonard Corporation for over 25 years with over 100 books to his name. His credits include 11 titles in his ongoing Inside the Blues series to go along with numerous Signature Licks, Guitar School!
