Recently Contrac Equipment donated a 389X to the RB auction with all proceeds going to the Stollery Children’s Hospital, such a good cause. I haven’t had the chance to see a 389X up close and just had to go in and take a closer look. Unfortunately, these special-built and numbered trucks (only 1389 were made) is the end of the classic-styling, ultra-cool, long hood Peterbilt’s that have become the absolute icon of trucking in North America and as cool as the truck is (can’t believe what it sold for) I have to say, it's a sad ending to such a legacy – how could you PACCAR???
