This DURBAN SERIES VLOG includes South Africa family holiday whereby We arrived in Durban, South Africa, where we were warmly welcomed by family. My niece gave me candy, we received gifts, and I even got a new pair of sandals while waiting for the whole family to arrive. Once everyone was together, we went to collect my cousin. The car was packed with home-cooked food and beverages, and then we headed straight to Granny’s home. We arrived late, but the journey was filled with excitement and laughter.
Photography Challenge & Camera Comparison
The next morning, we decided to do a camera and photography challenge. The group chose different subjects for the photos, and we compared a Samsung phone vs an iPhone camera. I was honestly impressed by the Samsung zoom quality, which has me seriously considering switching to Samsung.
Christmas Lunch & Family Celebration
Later that afternoon, we enjoyed our Christmas lunch. Everyone was dressed beautifully, the food was delicious, and a professional cook came to prepare the meals. The atmosphere was warm, joyful, and full of love.
That night, we had a family party in the other room. Everyone danced while switching music styles — from piano music to hip hop and Maskandi. The vibe was amazing, and we ended the night with a late-night snack (Bright Gold), which was absolutely delicious. Everyone had a great time.
Rainy Day, Wedding & Working on Leave
The following day, it was still raining. Some family members attended a wedding, while the rest of us went out to look for food — only to find alcohol in the fridge instead. Eventually, plans changed, and we had to start preparing to head back home.
Even though I was on leave, I still had to work remotely, clocking in and assisting where I could. Later that day, I went to the doctor for checkups, but despite everything, I kept falling more in love with Durban’s views, scenery, and beach landscapes.
Episode 4: Wedding Support & uShaka Marine World
In Episode Four, we woke up early to support a family wedding as the groom went to the bride’s house. It was a beautiful day filled with gifts, food, and stunning décor.
We ended the day at uShaka Marine World, where my niece and I enjoyed the water slides. This experience inspired me to consider starting a food vlog, as I truly love Durban and its lifestyle.
Water Shortage, Braai & Farewell
The next day, there was no water, so we had to collect water and sanitized water. After that, I bought meat for a braai, and we enjoyed our last braai together as a family.
The following morning, everyone started leaving. Some left as early as 4 a.m., and by 11 a.m., most had gone. Since I still had one week left on my leave, I decided to spend an extra day traveling to Swaziland before fully returning home.
