Worshipping of Varamahalakshmi, the goddess who bestows boons, is a popular religious festival of Hindus, particularly popular among women of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, and Tamil Nadu.

The pooja is undertaken on the Friday before the day of full-moon in the month of Sravana (July-August).
