Kangyatse II, situated in the Leh - Ladakh region, is no lesser known 6000er for the adventure minds. On the trail snaking through the Hemis National Park, snow leopards and mountain goats can be spotted. Mystic Mani stones and the refreshing Tigu lakes make the views picturesque. The Basecamp sits with a clear view of Kangyatse I & II massif continuously appealing the mountaineers to play in its laps and on arms. GAF’s 10 membered team successfully reached the basecamp of KY II. From the base camp to the summit, was a pleasurable but a long and grueling ascent through snow patches and moraines. As the team pushed for the summit march, the difficulties grew exponentially and so did the determinations of Mr. Amit Dhole and GGIM Instructor Dinesh Kotkar. Both emerged summiteers of Mt. KY II on 5th Aug 2022. From the top, the never ending array of Karakoram and Zanskar ranges left the team spellbound.
