I have created a Group Node (Unfold Splines) which allows you to fold or unfold spline with the animation nodes in blender 2.8. The input spline or splines (or curves) can be Curve Text Object or Curve Object.

To install Extra-Nodes you have to follow the steps which are in the ReadMe file in the "newnodes" folder. Or you can download the compile-build of animation nodes from here:
