Episode 1: Meet the Falcons

In the premiere episode of On & Off the Gridiron: The Falcon Way, we are introduced to the young talent of the Health Sciences Charter School JV football team. These "young pups" are guided by Head Coach Drew Sullivan and Coach Twon Martian, who are as committed to their players’ academic success as they are to their athletic development.

We follow the Falcons through their first practice sessions, which take place in the heart of the historic Buffalo eastside: the Johnnie B. Wiley Amateur Athletic Sports Pavilion, built on the grounds of the old Buffalo Bills' War Memorial Stadium, and Kingsley Field, in the heart of the community still healing from the 2022 TOPS shooting.

As the season opener against Starpoint High School approaches, the Falcons' high-octane offense begins to take shape. Watch players like Alvin securing his first touchdown and more. This episode not only showcases the intensity on the field but also emphasizes the importance of balancing schoolwork with sports, setting the tone for these JV athletes both in the classroom and on the gridiron.
