This song was released in June of 2007, but I wrote it in 2006 around the time of Hugo Chavez’s speech to the UN General Assembly on September 20, 2006, one day after President George W. Bush’s where he referred to him as Mr. Danger.

This was really my attempt to write something as cool as John Lennon’s “I don’t Wanna Be a Soldier” which I could never quite replicate on acoustic guitar.

I used to get worked up about politics. I was insane about diet, food and body. I was Anti War, I wanted Love. I wanted to heal the Earth. I did Yoga!

I protested the Iraq invasion in 2003, booked Bonnie Raitt to sing at the big San Francisco Peace rally. She told me to shut up cause I was yapping and interrupting her focus. Fair play. Love Bonnie.

Those things are all well and good, AND, feed some people, do something. Help your community. Quit whining. That’s real power. Protest has become a way for people to off gas frustration.

So Mr. Danger isn’t the Rothschild family, it's not the Skull and Bones, it wasn’t Bush, and it's not Trump. It's you and me. This kind of fear and danger that's self created. I heard someone say you get the politicians you deserve and I think its true.

There are a number of conspiracies. Some have evidence, some don’t, but the culture around conspiracy is just another addictive substance.

I will say one thing about politics. I believe we are all in this together. The President and his cabinet included. And my hope is that there is some divine grace guiding them and that we can all blah balh
