U.S. EPA Region 5 Brownfields Climate Training Virtual Workshop, 2/15/23

On February 15, 2023, the US EPA Region 5 Brownfields team hosted a virtual climate training workshop for their federal, state, local, Tribal and non-governmental partners. The purpose of the workshop was to increase the understanding of regional climate risks to brownfield sites and communities in R5. The workshop provided guidance on screening for climate risks and vulnerable locations, as well as identifying and incorporating climate adaptation and resilience strategies throughout the brownfield redevelopment process. Participants identified needs when planning for and implementing climate resilience in brownfield redevelopment. In addition to presentations, the workshop had interactive activities using Mural.
