200 Pawpaws arrived from the Indiana State Nursery and were planted in paper pots out at my house. The trees were generally of good size and their root systems were fairly well developed. Considering how inexpensive the trees were, the survival rate of the trees was fantastic. I did not plan on grafting over these pawpaw trees in their first year, however I had left over scion wood so some of them got grafted. This led to problems with grafted trees being overly shaded by the ungrafted trees.
